environmental education

Using my skills as an art educator, I designed new and improved curriculum for a local environmental educational program run by Gwinnett Water Resources. Water on Wheels provides free, in-school field trips to engage students in water curriculum and grow more water-conscious consumers. With topics ranging from the impact of “flushable” wipes on our wastewater system to bugs being pollution indicators, this was a dynamic position where I had the privilege of developing programming and learning at the same time.

For my work designing the Water on Wheels lesson Let’s Adopt a Stream, including hand-building realistic stream dioramas to bring into the classroom, I was invited to write a piece for Georgia Association of Water Professionals.

Note: the editor conflated the names of my lesson and the statewide program. I corrected the mistake for clarity.
